McFarland Companions to Mystery Fiction

McFarland Companions to Mystery Fiction is an academic book series that aims to contribute to the growing body of scholarship on mystery, detective, and crime fiction. The series provides comprehensive analysis of each subject’s body of work, including frequently unknown or neglected works; includes an annotated bibliography and details on media adaptations; and offers unique elements such as maps, manuscript excerpts, and rare photographs. Companion volumes have received awards and nominations such as those for the James Ellroy companion (Edgar Award nominee; Silver Falchion Award nominee) and the Sara Paretsky companion (Macavity Award recipient; Agatha Award nominee).

Submitting Proposals for the Series
The series strives for diversity in subjects and coverage (for example, gender; race; countries of origin; mystery subgenres). Potential subjects should have a substantial body of work. Please send inquiries and proposals to series editor Elizabeth Foxwell.
