About the Author(s)

The late Barry Swanton was a retired baseball coach and manager from Winnipeg, Canada. He was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame for his promotion of baseball and baseball history in that province.
A former radio and television reporter, Jay-Dell Mah develops websites. He is a member of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) and previously served as the organization’s webmaster. His Attheplate.com has been on the web since the late 1990s.
