Lee’s fascinating pen and ink portraits brings together black achievers from around the globe. Arranged chronologically (from Piankhi, an Ethiopian ruler of ancient Egypt, to Andre Watts, piano virtuoso), each drawing includes a cameo biography.

The late George L. Lee was the author of several books. His works of art as well as his other published works, were originally run in a variety of newspapers.
