About the Author(s)

Lloyd W. Klein is a clinical professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He is a nationally recognized cardiologist who has made numerous contributions to interventional cardiology in the past 35 years. He is also an amateur historian who has read and published extensively on the Civil War, with a particular interest in political and military leadership and their economic ramifications.
Eric J. Wittenber is the author of 22 books on the American Civil War. He is a member of the boards of directors of the Central Virginia Battlefields Trust and Little Big Horn Associates and also serves as the program coordinator for the Chambersburg Civil War Seminars and Tours. He is an attorney in private practice in Columbus, Ohio.
