Studies in Punk
Studies in Punk is a book series devoted to scholarship in punk music, culture, fashion, politics and anything and everything punk.
Submitting Proposals for the Series
Proposals for Studies in Punk are invited in such areas as music, film, art, popular culture, fashion, politics, literature, specific band/scene histories, and television, to name just a few. Proposals should include the following:
• Prospectus that includes a general description of the project that focuses on its uniqueness and intended audience, including a thorough description of its thesis and mention of the topic discussed.
• A draft table of contents or detailed outline and a one-paragraph description of each chapter that focuses more specifically on its thesis and works covered.
• A draft of the preface or introduction and at least one sample chapter
• A length estimate (75,000-word to 110,000-word projects are preferred)
• Comments on special elements (such as artwork or photos).
• A proposed timeframe for delivery of the completed manuscript.
• A comprehensive resume or curriculum vitae.
The target audience for the series is primarily academic. While most books in the series will be scholarly monographs or edited collections of essays on a unified topic, the series editors also invite proposals for unprecedented reprint volumes of neglected works, with scholarly commentary, and for unprecedented critical biographies of significant writers, artists, and creators. We additionally invite books geared towards more popular audiences on punk topics, as well as more unconventional artistic works.
Please send proposals that for books that deal primarily with punk art, music, and other cultural artifacts to series editors Christopher M. Innes, cinnes@boisestate.edu, or Andrew Wood, andrew.wood31@gmail.com.
