About the Book

This anthology of more than 1900 quotations spans the centuries since humans first put ideas to pen. There are 76 categories, from abstract art to wisdom, with the fully attributed quotes (author, source, date) then subarranged approximately chronologically. The larger categories are subdivided into narrower subject sections.
Some of the sentiments are delightful, others spring insights like traps, still others seem so crafted as to define seemingly forever their subject.
The author index gives the quoted artists’ birth and death dates, country of origin and medium of expression.

About the Author(s)

Donna Ward La Cour of Colorado Springs, has studied art at the University of Colorado and elsewhere and has worked many years in the design departments of commercial printers and publishers.
